The shirt is a comfy fit well lined and the armour/padding is good for a shirt. It has a zip fastener as well as the normal stud fasteners which is really good as the wind does not go through and rip the fasteners open while riding. All in all its a good shirt and good value for money

Keep you at the right temperature on your summer ride, but beware it gets very warm when you’re not on the the bike. Good fit it you go 1 size over and the armour is not uncomfortable and seems of a good quality

Fast delivery and we’ll packaged. Good quality product, did go for one size up to allow for fleece or jumper underneath, definitely the right decision. Great item

I wanted a coat with some armour protection for when I ride my bicycle (just in case) Having used a full-on motorbike ‘winter’ jacket in the past and finding it too warm/heavy for the task, I looked at this coat instead.
I tried one a mate of mine had for his motorbike, and thought it would go well on my bicycle instead. The coat is wind proof of course and light enough not to be a burden on a bicycle. It is long in the back aswell, so no cold butt when out cycleing. I had to take out the supplied back protector to get a good fit with the coat (it’s a modern standards type and stiff) but I replaced it with an old standards semi soft foam type of back protector, from an older (and very heavy canvas type) motorcycle jacket.
This ‘mod’ made all the difference for comfort and fit, otherise I would have had to send it back and get the size larger than XXL. The supplied shoulder and elbow armour fits well and is not noticable when wearing the coat. If you wear more than a thin shirt underneath however, you need a larger size than normal. Wearing a thin fleece with this coat will not work for me, but I don’t want to wear lots of warm clothing when out cycleing, as I over heat quickly otherwise. There’s a reason most cycleists wear thin clothing/lycra when out riding, as their not cold when doing so.
There is also a small zip on the back of the shoulders to allow a little more room, which I found useful aswell (I have shoulders nearly as wide as a 27″ doorway) The XXL size I have fits snuggly, with little chance of the coat flapping about in high wind. This is important for wearing on a motorbike, not so much of course on a bicycle. My XXL coat fits nicely for the arm length I have (approx. 18″ from arm pit to wrist) but the XXXL size would have arms too long for me I think. The coat fits right up under too my armpits, so if you need axtra room here, you probably need the size up for you.
I need to lose some weight anyway (hence my cycleing again) so I expect the coat to fit even better than it does now. As I said, if it was any smaller on me, the XXXL size would be a must (for me) but given the arm length and no flapping about fit when zipped up, plus the comfort of the armour fitted, it’s a good choice size wise for my 48″ chest.
However, if you use this coat for when riding your motorcycle, I wouldn’t recommend it really, as it is very lightweight and thin, when compared to the winter style heavy canvas coats fitted with body armour I have used over the years.
This particular coat is a bit overkill for a bicycle maybe, but I was wearing a “proper” motorbike coat when I fell off my bicycle a few years ago and the armour fitted and heavy canvas construction, saved me a load of grief from potential injury. This coat fits the bill for my needs (on a bicycle) due to its light weight construction and comfortable fit and protection overall. I highly recommend this coat for use on a bicycle, not so much for use on a motorbike though.
Question: What’s the difference (for the rider) between falling off a bicycle going maybe 20mph or more and falling off at the same speed on a motorbike? Answer: NONE, except ONE of them is most likely wearing protective clothing, against gravel rash etc. and a helmet. I found this out the hard way, so I like to be prepared for a repeat performance, just in case.
